New memory card standard: XQD (should be v. fast!)

It's a CF replacement, not a SD one. I can't see it being used in phones, only high end cameras. It also physically pretty large and clearly not compatible with the current CF form factor. Also CF is ATA, this is pci-e so very different electronically.

No backward compatibility is my guess. The interesting thing is that pci-e allows you to implement anything really into these cards as long as the host (camera etc) supports it.
