I've just bought 70-200 L f4 IS USM from someone on here( cheers walls :thumbs:).
Must say that it is a cracker of a lens. I have just bought cheap tripod mount from Amazon as well, and for the money it is VFM.

Quick question....does the IS drain the power very fast or can you not notice it?

Hi Paul, glad you're enjoying the lens. To be honest I've never really thought about it, but now that you mention it, if I had the 70-200 on all day it did seem to run the batteries down a little bit quicker.
 
jsut buy a couple more batteries, they can be had cheap and as an alternative to wondering if you an do without IS all the time.

Should I go for Canon or is there an aftermarket alternative that is any good?
