Read the blog today and it prompted me to finally order the boom arm I'd been looking at.

Nice to see a company from these shores doing well and expanding!

Just wondering whether the headquarters would have a shop/area for direct purchases as the new headquarters are not a million miles away from where I am?

It will take time to organise, but we do plan to include a showroom, and visitors will be welcome.

It will have to be by arrangement though (not walk in) because, for obvious reasons, it's in a secure compound.

This expansion has been planned for a long time. Typically, only fairly large Companies can have their own warehousing, although really tiny ones do too. Small-ish Companies contract out to fulfillment houses, who manage their stock and deal with despatches, but if the Company grows, as we have done despite the recession, there comes a point where the cost of this, and inconvenience, makes it necessary to take a very deep breath and dig deep into the pocket.

The move has already started, we're hoping that by the end of next week it will be pretty much complete and it should hopefully then be "business as usual" but this depends on whether or not we've thought of everything, and if nothing horrible like both fork lift trucks breaking down doesn't happen:)

Meanwhile, we can't send out orders so we're giving a 5% discount by way of apology.

I've already taken advantage of the 5% offer and placed an order - it's not a time critical purchase so the discount was a nice bonus!

Well, the move is now complete - or at least it will be tomorrow, and everything will be more or less back to normal on Monday, although we're still having problems with the phone and emails.

It will probably take another week before our broadband and phone lines are up and running, meanwhile phone calls are being diverted to my mobile, which would be fine if only we had decent mobile reception - details, plus the coupon code for the 5% discount that we have now extended for the whole of September, are here

Quite a lot of people have asked me about future lighting workshops. Well, the move to the new HQ has brought about changes to my own life too, but I'm hoping that we will be able to host lighting workshops at the HQ in the future, although we need to set up the studio area first. The only problem I can foresee is that because the studio will be in a large warehouse, there can't be any heating, so we will be pretty much limited to the summer months.

Good luck Garry and Lencarta (no connection, just a satisfied customer who has had some great advice from Garry.. :)

I've had it for over a week and because I've been busy at work and the kids have started school, it's just sat in the garage in its box!!!!

Hopefully will get it out this week, so will let you know.
