My 3 year old Dell Studio 17 has died! It looks like a over heating issue, the cooling fan was not being told to come on, looks like the motherboard may be shot.

Any recommendations for a replacement? Must have at least a 17" screen and a pcmcia slot if possible. The latest Dell's have done away with them, shame as mine had one.

What's driving the PCMCIA requirement?
 
Why not get a USB one then? Seems strange to choose a laptop based on the peripheral...
