New laptop with stand alone graphics card

Hi,

I need to buy a new laptop but wanted to get one with a stand alone graphics card as I understand this is better for photoshop.

I have seen 2 dell ones, which offer 512MB AMD Radeon HD 6470M and the higher spec one with a 1gb graphics card.

Do you think the one with the graphics card of 512MB AMD Radeon HD 6470M

is enough or should I go for the 1gb one? Also what are your thoughts on Dell as being reliable?

The lower spec is intel core i3 and the higher spec is intel core i5

Go for the i5 with 8GB of RAM and 64 bit win7.
I have the Dell Latitude E6410 with 8GB ram with integrated GFX and CS5 is really quick !

It has a Core i5 CPU but is of the Sandy Bridge variety (see here) as well as 6gb RAM and dedicated graphics, all be it not the most powerful going but dedicated all the same.

Not bad at all for £530.

Its quite something what you can get for your money these days.

That's about 50% quicker than my old desktop (Dual core E8400 @ 3GHz). I'm almost tempted myself!!!
