My Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop needs a new battery as we can't use it for more than 10 mins without the power supply attached before it goes into 'shut-down'.

I've looked on Amazon and eBay and all the Dell batteries are extortionately priced but the cheaper ones, I have no idea about their quality.

Anyone able to recommend a good reliable source of good reliable batteries?

I bought a laptop mate one from Amazon for my d620. I was delivered by Anker Direct but the one for your laptop from Anker is about £30.

Treat it like buying a second camera battery. The cheaper ones work, but will probably not be as good. As to 4400 or 6600 - either will do, although the 6600 should last 50% longer.

I might just have one of these

I tried a pattern battery part from eBay for my Thinkpad a few years ago. Much cheaper but its fit was not spot on and it moved about when installed. The Lenovo replacement battery OTOH fitted like a glove but cost a fortune. So I guess you pays your money etc ...

I have a FK890 which I think fits some of the 1500 series but not yours
