New laptop advice

Planning to get a new laptop but I only have very limited knowledge about it so would like to get some advise before I buy it.

Mainly use it for internet, photo editing, occasionally BT and office. Have found the following laptop,but not quite sure whether I should get it or not.

a couple of things.
has it got a DVD drive? it would be difficult to load software without one. added cost of buying a USB dvd drive! unless you get everything through the cloud of course.
is "1366 x 768" the max resolution? that seems very low on a modern laptop. but you will certainly be able to read the screen. ;)
 
Thanks for the reply.it has a DVD drive on it. I think 1366x768 is the Max resolution so I take it's not good enough for photo editing then? By the look of the specifications, will u recommend it? I have had a look of the sony vaio 15e as well but it is more expensive, however if it is better,I will consider it as I hope the laptop can last a bit longer and suits for my needs.

Wouldn't touch Sony computers with someone else's bargepole. They should stick to hi-fis.

Spec is good on the Fujitsu other than the screen as mentioned. However most laptop screens will always be a compromise and best solution is a good quality ips external display.
 
Like neil said the fujitsu spec is pretty good but the max screen resolution is the let down.
most laptops that use the 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT720M graphics cards would expect a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080
if unsure you need to visit a shop that has the fujitsu on display, only you can decide if the screen is acceptable.

Otherwise, it's a good spec.

You need a laptop and not a desktop I take it?

Really? There is all the internet to download from... I haven't touched a DVD disc for 2 years (mainly because I don't have the drive, but never needed one)

The resolution is appalling. Stay well away. Maybe look at macbook pro retina instead.
 
Very high specs and could be overkill to be honest i7 processor and dedicated graphics is a bit much for internet etc.
how much photo editing?

I would go for a better screen or budget for an external nice screen for say £140 doing photo editing on a laptop just makes me nuts ache.
