Hello, so basically I'm looking at getting a new laptop soon and don't really have any idea which one to get. :help:I'm looking for one that is:
  • Decent for Gaming
  • Fast processor
  • Large storage
  • Reasonable price
  • Good for music/Films/Photo editing etc.
Just one that will be fast and have the space to upgrade separate parts.
I know this probably sounds ridiculous but I really don't have a clue what half of the specs really mean. Some suggestions/advice would be a great help.
Thanks.

If you want to do all those things listed, but never at the same time, why not consider an iPad?

Jokes aside, Dell are very reasonable and very reliable.

Dell/Alienware are good for gaming on a laptop. What do you want though? 11" portability or 17" visibility? There are 13 & 15" versions available in the range (M11X, M13X, M15X & M17X) so size is there, gaming is there, but are your funds??? Personally for what you want, and what Dell/Alienware offer I personally think the price is reasonable but I understand what's inside and the value of it. You may find it reasonable too, others will find them expensive but at the end of the day with high standards comes high prices.

Yeah i understand that. when I say gaming, I don't mean as in top spec or anything. that's not going to be my main function on it, I'm not a 'hardcore' gamer I just want one that will be able to run the latest games decently, not necessarily on full graphics, just smoothly. My budget consists of £500 from my Mum (hahaa) and then whatever money i can put into it if need be.
Thanks for the responses by the way.

Thanks everyone. And madmackem for the link. I'm going for the Dell Studio 15
i5 processor
4gb ram
500gb Hard drive
Etc.
total Price: 599
Again, thanks for the advice, really helped!

Hmmm.. Always makes me laugh when someone wants to play games on a laptop. Wii's PS and Xbox's are far better for gaming and Bluray for films. Get a laptop for mobile work or a Desktop for heavy use. But not for gaming

why. some laptops can be spec'd for gaming and blu-ray/HD films arent hard to run on a medium spec.
