Hi everyone,
new lad here, from the north east and looking to buy a digital slr, used to take a lot of pics at croft with my 2 trusty pentax,s( p30 and p30t) and a few cheap lenses, enjoyed it lots but it all got a bit expensive and other things in life took over( land rovers mainly).
So i,m in the market for a new slr, i have a lumix pocket camera but they are limited in performance, im drawn towards the conon eos 550d, it seams to punch well above its weight in performance for the money, i can get a decent deal at jessops, the camera body, a 18-55 dc lens and a canon 75-300 dc lens with the option of canon 50mm f/1.8 mk11 lens for an extra £50, making the whole lot just under £500, about what i have to spend.
Anyone tell me the pro,s and cons of this combo, should i wait untill after xmass untill the 2013 models come out and see if i can get a better deal ?.
Im not really any good at taking pics but enjoy it and want a decent, reliable easy(ish) to use camera, that can take a bit of punishment when i,m out off roadiing (1972 land rovers arnt known for there comfort !),
