My Sunday League team have got a new kit and I thought of doing an unveiling shoot type thing but I'm completely stuck for ideas, having very blank mojo-losing moment?

Can anyone kick start my brain for me, please :help:

They were more action shots. I was looking for the more static type of shots that you see. I thought someone on here had done some but I've searched and not found anything apart from Carol's and Phil's

They did indeed and they both looked the Dogs Danglies !

I agree, they did and with Phil and Matty's help I have done similar but it was more the mean and moody looking static shots I was after

See, I think this is actually helping me to realise what I want to do!

Hi. Google some rugby posters, that's what I did for the footie. Some 'we mean business' shots taken from a low angle with some dramatic lighting? Or a before (clean) after (muddy) shot? Get a crash mat and do a 'chris ashton' shot? Might get something with speedlights off camera? I loved the shot someone did with a lady rugby player tackling the padding round the goal posts recently.

Oh, its not rugby, its footie!!! Silly me. First idea still would work though.

This?

That's the sort of thing I think I want.

Hmmmm, speedlights..... I have one, might invest in another. Haven't got the foggiest how to use off camera though! Oooo, I've got some cheapy studio lights I could use

Will have to have a google when I get home and have a look. I'm starting to get some mojo now

Starting to get some ideas now

No, because I'm starting to go to football more, I need to go to rugby as much as I can, if that makes sense!

Weirdly, Yes, completely! :D

Try a heavy 'contre-jour', with the subject directly between you and the sun, using fill flash.

The sun should be about right around 3ish, or if your going to get a decent sunset start shooting 20 min or so before sundown.

Hmm, Sun might be a bit difficult. Been foggy here for about 2 weeks it seems

Kelly I did these mean and moody static ones, not sure if you've seen them

I saw your action profile ones, the ones you helped me with but not these. Yes, that's similar to what I was thinking. I like :D

Will speak to the lads and see what they're up for doing. I found some posters on google over the weekend, it's just knowing how to put them into practice though. I don't use my flash all that often so it will be a lot of trial and error.

Thanks for sharing your link Steven. That's certainly an idea. I think I prefer the mean and moody look but I might suggest it to the rugby club for them for your style of portrait (the football team don't have a clubhouse or changing rooms)
