Hi all - hope this is the right place only new.

Basically i have a samsung Gx-1s, with 18 -55 and 55- 200 but have ' out grown' it in a way. and fancy something new although i would keep my samsung as a second camera it as i have an large flash set up witch for some reason only works with the gx-1s.

I am after a new Slr max of £500 (poor student) with a lens. May consider second hand. any reconditions? the 450D and the 1000D both stand out but wondering on other peoples thoughts.

Cheers

Liam

Go in to a camera shop and try all the camera in your price range in order that you can get a feel for them. The equivalent cameras from Nikon/Canon and Sony are so close that none of them will be bad. The purchasing decision is down to minor features, feel, offers etc.

Bare in mind future purchases though. [star wars mode]Once you start down the Nikon or Canon path forever will it dominate your destiny[/star wars mode].

I was looking at a number of Canon options but when I tried out the alternatives I bought the Nikon ! YOU might do exactly the opposite or find that a Sony or another Samsung is preferable!

Try trawling eBay. I bought 30D for my son off there. It was virtually brand new, That still had 4 month warranty on it. That was £300, leaving you £200 for a decent lens.
