Hello everyone!

I'm Rob, 24, From Norwich, in sleepy Norfolk :D

I bought my D40X a few years back when i got into airshows etc, I went to a few places, and got a bit snap happy but never really got the measure of all the DSLR features which were new to me and a bit puzzling! As a result of this, my pictures were often a disappointment and i lost interest :(

Until the end of last year i didn't really use the camera much at all, it all seemed a bit wasteful. Thanks to a couple of good friends, one of whom shoots semi-pro, I've dusted off the camera with the hope of making a good go of it from now on!

Here's a few shots to start with. I'm here to improve my skills and learn new stuff so i'm always open to suggestions and criticism.

Hi Rob and a warm welcome to TP.

Not into cars except that I have one for personal transpor, so will not comment. Plenty folk in here will be interested, though.
Pics 1 and 2 could use a little bit of processing to enhance the sky, but otherwise are well composed and emotive shots, so very good on that.

Not sure what the last one is - ice, perhaps? it has potential, that's for sure.

Thanks for the welcome :) I appreciate that everyone has their own different tastes and subjects they prefer to shoot, so that's all good! After all.. variety is the spice of life.

I only use Lightroom to edit my pics, but i guess i could do something with the skies in there? Any tips on how i could achieve this?

The last one is indeed ice crystals or whatever you might want to call them, they were growing inside our water butt a few weeks back :)
 
Not familiar with Lightroom. I use PSE.

Now that your first post has had an answer you probably will not get many more folk looking at it in the Welcome section.
Repost the pics in Post Processing and Image editing and ask for assistance in improving the sky using Lightroom and you'll get help.
