Never going to happen. Apple make too much money selling storage. SD cards are not on Apples radar. The iPad pro is just a big iPad. Nothing more
 
Guess will need to wait for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 next month to see what it brings to the table. :)
 
If apple did one thing it would be amazing.

Allow the connection of external storage or additional USB.

Surface pro 3 is light years ahead of the iPad pro so why wait?

I'm not an Apple hater. I own Apple products and love my iPad mini 2 but this iPad pro is just a nonsense
 
I don't think the iPad Pro is nonsense at all, there is definitely a market for it. About 600 senior members of staff in our organisation are getting those and no laptop/desktop in our organisation. That is all they want and require truth to be told.

My wife doesn't use anything other than her iPad, never had a need for USB storage or SD cards or anything like that either...With all the cloud based possibilities these days I'm really struggling to see the benefit myself. OTG USB I do use, but mainly for my external WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS cards for 'special' projects....
 
You also can really download files, move files around etc like a proper OS.
 
The cloud is great. If you have a reasonable connection, if at all.

Went to Norway recently and had zero coverage, still managed to make backups of photos on case a device was dropped down a waterfall :D

And you can do that, have been apple to do that since the original iPad. Heck I did that on the iPod Photo, remember that one :)

Yes agree, I took the west coast mainline last week and the signal was absolutely terrible....But lets keep it in perspective, it's an iPad and not a desktop replacement laptop ...

Different use those and regardless of what you choose heavier, and compromised in tablet mode. Don't get me wrong I love my Surface Pro 3, it is really good at what it is being a hybrid, but there are better tablets, and there are better laptops...There is no one size fits all and the best for everything and everyone...
 
ive just sold my spare Air 2 so i can get 1. As for storage i just use the Sandisk media drive with 196gb of storage and everything sits on that, films books excess music etc.

I also have a Surface pro 2 which is ok for work, but i wouldn't sit on a train reading a kindle on it Ipads much better for that.. However would i sit with a 13inch screen mmmm
Like the 4 x louder quote from Apple that will be a nice touch Air 2 is pretty loud so god know hows loud this one is.

Hate using a pigs tit to write with the pencil looks like what i need.
I think price wise i reckon 650 for 32 and 750 128 .... but I'm guessing lol
