New iPad - Amateur photographry and other uses - Advice please!

Thanks so much for the advice. Yeah when I was doing some research yesterday I had completely forgot about the Three network then couldn't believe how good value their deal was, I worked out exactly the same thing re £10 per month, so I thought why buy it out right? 3G was worth it to me just to make things easier.

I've now released that when travelling I'll take lots of memory cards and a card reader and use the Internet cafe approach. Then the small amount of photos I really want to share I'll put on the iPad and share them.

I'm loving it already, can't put it down and it's so seamless to use for almost anything

Many Thanks

Will.

ipad is very quick too i find. Comes on very quickly. Its a ashame one cant transfer stuff from or on it to external HD's though.

i've had mine for 2 weeks and haven't looked back. I ummed and arr-ed since they came out thinking i would never use it, but my girlfriend bought me one for my birthday and i'm amazed how much i really do use it for everything!

My only quibble so far is shooting tethered to my D7000, i want to view the images in full as a preview of what i'm shooting without importing them first! Has anybody found a solution that doesn't involve running a pc as well? seems daft to me that there isn't an integrated solution. Short of an eye-fi card but i'm not sure how fast that'll be, or even if that'll allow me the luxury of viewing a full screen preview and not a thumbnail :(

I would love an Android pad to come out with say win 8 on it and a nice size storage and quad CPU and the ability to plug and play Hard drives etc.

They've been out for years (well not with Win 8 of course) and nobody was buying them ;)

i know the Archos 101 supports external hard drives, they have 8 or 16GB internal memory and a micro sim slot for expansion too. I'm not sure if they all run 2.2 Froyo but the one i used did but also didn't have the full "android market/google play" which meant a very limited amount of apps etc.

Having used one though the experience is nothing like an ipad, but then again, neither is the price at £160 from the carphone warehouse :)

Thanks. Lets hope a decent one comes out when Win 8 raises its head!
