I'd like to i really would, but i wouldn't like to play around with credit cards and balance transfers etc just yet.

I'm hoping this kit will do me well for the next few years while i save for the pro gear. Then hopefully i'll have more of an idea of what i'm looking for when it comes to buying it and also my skills would hopefully be at a standard where i could use the camera to its full potential.
 
I'd totally forgotten about photo editing software....

What would you reccommend??
 
So that's base, lens, photo editing software... planning on getting a camera bag, tripod and memory card aswell.

Is there anything i've missed?

Get yourself a credit card offering 0% transfers/purchases, some are offering 16 months and then have a look in the classifieds, some major bargains to be had on some well looked after kit.
Go in this way and if in a years time you want/need to upgrade you'll not lose that much:thumbs:

I'd stick with the plan... the D90 is a great camera to start with and the extra money would be best saved toward a more specialist lens when you know what you want (macro, portrait, wide-angle, ...).

UFRaw and Gimp - take a wee while to leanr how to use it but it's free! the equivalent Adobe program (while easier to use will set you back several hundreds of ££'s)

Just like to let you know i'm now the proud owner of a nikon d90 18-105 mm kit!

I've also got the lightroom 2 software

:D very happy!...not put it down since it finished charging!


Although, i've done my playing around for the night as i'm shattered and even though i've switched it off and removed the memory card this is displayed on the top screen - [-E-] i cant find why that is through reading the instruction manual.
Do i need to remove the battery or is there something i've not done properly?

-e- just means that there is no memory card in it :)
