Hi all, ive just singed up to the forum after buying my first proper camara today, a nikon d5000, i got the 18-55 vr lens and the 70-300 with it, im over the moon with it and havent put it down yet. Im hoping by joining this forum i can make some good friends and collect some great information and advice from many off the potographers on here.
Ill get some pictures up soon, well asoon as i take some good ones, and if anyone has any hints or tips for me then im all ears

Many thanks all for taking the time to read my post
Brent

Hi,
Welcome! Been over the 'bridge' many times, must be a good photo op. Often thought about doing a night shoot there!

lol, cheers dave, i must admit, ive been looking at canon for a while, my brother has the 350d and my mate has the nikon d60, ive reserched them both for about 2 months or so before i went out to get one, i had my heart set on the canon 450, but the moment i picked it up, it felt wrong, the nikon just seemed to fit my hands perfectly, so im affraid as good as the canon is, the nikon won, lol

Hi Brent

I was only kidding if it feels good to you its right mate

Look forward to seeing your work

its not the camera its seeing the shot that counts

just a quickie......

when i bought my D40 - the owners manual was rubbish....
have a look at "Nikon D5000 Digital Field Guide (Paperback)" at Amazon Books £8
well worth it ..............

and if anyone has any hints or tips for me then im all ears

if you use your VR lens on a tripod - turn OFF the VR
it seems, if rigidly clamped, the VR "hunts" for vibration and there isn't any...
caused my 200mm images to be a bit soft

Hi and welcome.
