Not sure if this is the correct location for this post but regarding equipment.. I bought and recieved 2 new items the other day, a canon EF 50mm F/1.8 prime lens and a Nissin Di622 mkii flashgun.. Not really done a lot with them both yet, only a couple of experimenting shots but i'm very happy so far with them
 
The 50mm is a great lens, lots of fun. Enjoy getting creative with that narrow depth of field!
 
thankyou.. I find that the dof is better than the kit lens 18-55mm but focus needs to be more spot on
 
Both items are very good pieces of kit, I've had a few Nissin flashguns (2 Di622's and 2 Di866's, 1 MkI and 1 MkII) and they are fantastic flashes. I had a 50 f1.8 for a while but wanted something of a similar length but a better build so I swapped it for a 50 f1.4. I found the f1.8 version was very good from around f2.5 onwards and got some great shots from it.
