Hi guys,

I'm Shane and new to the forum, I'm really wanting to get started with photography.

At the min I haven't got a clue what camera set up to go for apart from I really like the Nikon D90 apart from that I'm lost lol.
I've bidded on ebay in the last couple of days on 2 cameras but due to work I've not seen the end of the auction so missed both.:shake:

Hope to find out alot more from the forum,

Cheers,

Shane.

welcome bud, i too was in your shoes....

this site's very good to bring you on from where you are... dont be shy in asking, we all had to start.

Hello Shane,

Welcome fellow Spireite?

You wont go far wrong with the D90, I have one as a second camera. It has served me really well.

Hey Shane hows it going? Recently bought a Nikon myself and I've been on eBay for a pair of lenses which I've now managed to obtain. Little tip mate (hope I'm not teaching you to suck eggs:D )
1. When you know what you want, watch as many of the same as possible to establish what's a good price, then be very patient until you get a good deal. Loads of stuff goes for more than it's worth.
2. Hold out for a minter if you can, there's loads of uglies for sale! Read between the lines in descriptions.
3. Know what you're buying and ask the seller questions if in doubt! Don't do what I just did for example and buy a non motorised lens for a non motorised body :bang:
4. Consider onestop digital from Hong Kong, brand new kit for often not much more than used on eBay, if you are comfortable with the possible hassle if you need to return stuff.
Happy shopping and have fun:thumbs:
