Took a trip to Draycote Water today and there were loads of windsurfers taking advantage of the strong winds.
Was there to test out my new 70-200mm and rattled off a ton of shot (a few are here.)
Anyway, looking through them when i got back, I realised there were about 15% of the 490+ that were useable and it really made me appreciate just how much technique sports photographers have to apply to their photography to get good shots.
Panning, shutter speed selection, composition: it all plays a part and when you have a windsurfer, car, motorbike, whatever, whizzing past, you really don't have much time to get the shot right.
I'm quite taken wiith trying to get some good shots and think I'll head back over tomorrow to rectify what I didn't get right first time around. Seriously impressed by what sports photographers have to put into their work and it's definitely taught me a thing or two about something I frankly don't have that much experience of.
