New Forum Added - Off Topic!

'The Corner' ? Shamelessly nicked from another forum.

Or even 'Banter And B*ll*cks'? It's seem to sum up pretty much what goes on in there!

I have to say, of all the names in all the world, you have managed to pick what is probably both the most appropriate whilst also the naffest name by a long way.

How about a pub name for the GD forum.

The Malt Shovel
Fat Badgers
The Quiet Woman

or, with a photog slant

The Shutterbug and the Slug
Larry the Lensman
Three Hotshoes
The L of a Glass

how about

slack and tickle

cant think of anything else...too much christmas in my brain

So how come posts in the new off topic forum don't appear in the recent threads list on the home page now? It kinda makes it feel like you shouldn't really be posting in there because it's not photography related. I feel it takes a bit of the fun out of the forums, just my opinion of course

They should do, I adjusted the list the other day....

I'll go take a look :)

As for posting in there...post away! We even love spam, we do :) (Of the nice kind by you lot of course :D)

Oopsie, my apigglies....You have to change the setting in two different places...I missed one...

Should appear on the front page now I think! :)

Ooops sorry Marcel, I just assumed it was done on purpose :embarrassed:

Can I just say thank you so much for creating an off topic forum. I usually read the site through the new posts page and when I do not have much time it was getting really annoying when you see a title that looks like an interesting (in a useful way) post on this board only to find it has nothing at all to do with photography.

Just having it listed as being Off Topic makes a big difference in how user friendly the site is, for me anyway.

As far as a corny name goes, it is supposed to be some sort of pun based around the main topic of the site while indicating that it is for anything but that theme. Something like "Out of Focus Topics", as they will be outside the focus of photography.

Michael.

Bet he's an advertising exec

Actually a good name and gets my vote but I am easily amused. :D

Out of Focus, I like it. :D

Yeah, me too. Good one.

Unfortunately, I'm responsible for similar examples on other sites... such as 'Ruffled Feathers' for our bird forums, 'Over-exposed' on our photography site, 'Mess Deck' on our shipping site and my favourite 'derailed' on our railway forum

out of focus it is

Yay ... decision took and implemented ... :woot:

Good ole dependable Matty ...

:p

Lol, it was only meant as an example. Well at least I have another claim to fame now!

Michael.
