new flash help needed

hi can any one help which flash should i buy thanks to your forum i now know that a canon 450d will not fire a 580 mk11 canon flashgun remotely so next dilema do i buy the canon or the sigma flashgun which is similar in power
 
It's simple enough to put something between the two that will fire them to be honest. Have a look at FITP posts and get some triggers, full of remote flashy goodness. I haven't got a 580 but use mytriggers to fire other types. You can even buy some very clever things that'll talk to your flash to use the ETTL remotely. However, they are expensive compared to manual triggers of course.

Edit - Here's FITP for sale thread. Use it as a starting point, check eBay and the classifieds on here too. Ahem, including my old one for a set of triggers that's still floating about I believe...! I'd forgotten about it to be honest, just been in and dropped the price too!

You can with a £28 remote set up that will also do remote shutter as well

Oh, newbies don't get pm? Well, I try and send you customers, expecting you to remember your old mate Pip when you're a squillionaire, and look what they do to the forum! Back in my day, when all this was fields, the interweb was much betterer, oh yes, ebay was full of REAL bargains, not the overpriced tat on there now, Flash in the Pan was called Flash in his Daddys Eye back then he was I tell you, and newbies could buy what they liked... rhubard mumble grumble...
