New flash for my A200

Hi folks, as above really im looking for a flash for my A200, now im very new to photography and dont know much about them as yet!!
I know that i want to be able to use it off camera and that i am on a very tight budget as it wil be as a christmas present from a family member.

I have seen flashes on Fleabay from Hong kong for around the £30-£40 mark, i know 'you get what you pay for' but for a prezzy and as a first flash to get me going! what do you guys think??

Also any recomendations or advice greatly appreciated....

i got a jessops 360afd flashgun for £99 or you can try and get second hand for around £50, but it is brilliant for starting out. i was starting the strobist route and needed a basic flash for my budget, i absolutely love it, the only downside is the lock of flash shoe for tripod mounting (get one off fleabay) and that it only stops down to 1/16 of power.

i am planning to upgrade when i get my part tiem job at jessops so hopefully i can use my 10% discount and get the sony hvl f42am, but im still keeping the jessops flashgun because it would be brilliant as just a basic slave.
