my dad has been going on about getting a new camera for a while since hes reached the limitations of my old bridge camera (and its on its last legs!)

today i got a phone call from my mum saying "whats the 400d like as your dads seen it on offer in jessops" so i gave it the thumbs up.

so he went off to buy it, couldnt wait to see if he could find it any cheaper on the net, so off he went.

so yeh hes bought himself a 400D in silver (my text message saying "DONT LET THEM SELL YOU A SILVER ONE" didnt get read until he got home!) and he seems very happy if the text message i got from my mum is anything to go by...

:clap: now i just need to train him away from the watered down settings and straight into the PASM modes which he should pick up quite easily as his old camera is a minolta x-50 (i think). gotta get him to buy some L glass now so i can use it!:nuts:
 
another member of the DSLR club, next challenge introduce him to talkphotography, unless he is already here!
 
I bought a 400D from Jessops today as well. £446 sound about right?
 
i think so, i was told £400 but i presume my mum just rounded it to the nearest whole hundred. i think he got a lens and a free bag with it, but im not sure, ill give him a call soonish to find out what hes got and get him to email me some pictures hes taken with it. oh and push him towards this forum
 
Dont forget if he wants a black one, he can go back under their Satisfaction Guarantee and take it back :)
 
hes very very happy with his purchase, about the silver matter he said "silver is the colour of spaceships, its the future"

I'm really intrigued about how much he paid now because the staff I spoke to were not doing anything to sell it too me. I even walked out of the shop to look elsewhere then had to come back as I needed the camera.

I wanted a free bag :(
 
I got a 400D a month or so ago. Love it.

Got it on eBay for £380 with a 4gb memory card thrown in...refurbished models are so sweet, you save some cash and they are exactly the same as new ones.
 
you've read it wrong, you buy the bag and the camera and they knock £46.01 off the price of the camera so you get the camera for £399 but in total you spend £479.98, that must have been the offer my dad went for, so you dont actually get a free bag,

and that page seems to suggest the offer is on the black body as well!
