Hi just got myself a new laptop(aspire 5535) with windows vista basic installed. Tried to intall my photoshop elements 6 which it does all the way to the finish but when you click on the icon nothing happens have tried installing several times with the same result.Even tried to download the trial version of elements 7 but wouldnt even let me download this
any ideas chaps

No error message at all? Try right clicking the shortcut, properties and tick the box saying "run as admin".

Or possibly goto the compatibility tab and select xp from the drop down list.
