I love the c30 one of my favourite looking modern cars. Stands out among its dreary competitors.

Brilliant choice. Always wanted one of these but never got around to buying it. Glad to hear it has the 5 Cylinder, 2.5L turbo. The Focus ST in a more refined package!

Maybe worth searching Volvo forums to see if they suffer cracked cylinders like some Focus ST owners have suffered. It may just be a case of the engines having been modified, but the cylinder walls crack at the top which will allow coolant to seep into the combustion chamber. There is a simple and relatively cheap fix of fitting a shim between the cylinder walls.

that's nice, very nice, including the colour

I like it. Looks good in red!

Now let the tuning begin :)

I'm a sucker for red cars and this one really suits the shade. I'm pretty pleased I'll not be paying the petrol bills or coping with the suspension/tyres on an R Design model, but definitely a desirable machine all round. Hey, and let me commend your photos of it! (y)

Its a tin box on wheels.

No need. The guy is happy with his new car, why p*** on his parade?

BTW it's a nice motor. Mine too has "Cruise control, auto lights, auto wipers, auto rear view mirror, heated electric wing mirrors, Climate, heated memory seats, all leather interior" but with the advantage that the roof comes down.

Oh dear, the irony

It's just that yours is better because it's a cabriolet...

No, that is a personal thing. For me, I like a cabriolet, so it's an advantage. Certainly doesn't make it better.

Let's make it clear to Raymond (not for his benefit, bur for those that spend their time trawling the forum looking for a fight), I think it´s a really nice car, and I am pleased you are so chuffed with your choice. Sorted!

Looks great in red. I've never had a red or a white car but find myself drawn to both these days.
What has happened to old read cars going pink is it the paint formula? And has this now been solved?

Ah so it's because I is a foreigner and are looking for a fight  nothing to do with what you wrote then...Great glad we cleared that up...A wise lady taught me once, ignore everything before the but in a sentence and you get the true meaning.

Anyway I am not picking a fight, I appreciate and always take the best intentions...Just thought the irony was strong in how you question why someone is p***ing on his parade to then just do a big fat dump on it yourself...Probably just phrased slightly wrong ;)

Same here, for exactly that reason. But to be fair I don't think I've seen any recent dull 'pink' red cars...

Think modern paints help solve this, but a good wash and polish always helps.

I've a white car for the first time - looks absolutely stunning, but what a pain in the ar&e to keep clean. Shows everything, but worth it when it is clean [emoji3]

Oh and get yourself a bottle of tar remover otherwise looks like it's got some sort of pox when clean, with the amount of tar spots splattered down the car [emoji12]

I'm on my second bright red car. 1st was in the 80's on a 74 mk3 Cortina, that never went pink. Only cars I remember going pink were vauxhall corsas. Don't recall it happening to any of the other cars in the range though. The black plastic bumper trim used to fade to various shades of grey too.

Very Honda Jazz in appearance
I have to ask; are you serious or is that some kind of joke I don't get? You think it looks like this? The pinnacle for elderly motoring...

I took the tin can comment as every car ever made is technically tin can on wheels, isn't it? :D

Been looking at older cars to see which show the pinking (or paling - there was one blue Vauxhall as well as several red ones). 2 Fords, one Vauxhall (plus the blue one), a Mercedes, a Nissan and a Volvo. All in middle age ('90s). Other than the blue Vauxhall, all were red.

looks like a nice car but I am amused that you complained about the cost of running your last car and now you have bought a car that will cost you a lot in parts if it goes wrong, also that exhaust you complained about will cost the same or more on this volvo...

It may be a Ford ST in ladies clothing but parts are still going to be way expensive, you have priced up pads and disks and oil but that's not representastive of real worl running costs.

oh well....

You reckon? Never thought of it as a feminine looking car.

its a Volvo, I was being polite.
Does it come with seats made by The Shackletons High Seat Company as well
holy crap i'm 46 and way to young for a volvo

Add another Micra and another Volvo - both middle aged and faded red.
