Yes
Hope I'm not reposting this but I've had a look and not seen anything.

3 new confirmed patents from Canon. Linky

They are as follows:

14-24mm f/2.8L
60mm f/2.8 IS Macro
70-200mm f/2.8L IS II

I dare say these will please a lot of people. Let's just hope they are official and are out in the not too distant future.

The 14-24 f/2.8 would sit really well in my bag, shame the probable price would not go as well with the bank manager!!

Just what I was thinking Susie especially the bank manager bit.

Maybe one for the next christmas list (and the next twenty after that too)

love the sound of the 14-24 alright i think i will hold back buying a siggy 12-24 just for now. Wonder if that the 70-200 has the new IS mentioned before?

only the 14-24 perks my interest as well :)

None of them really float my boat, think canon need to wake up and smell the coffee

the 14-24 if a good lens will finally make my dicision between going ff or not. quite happy with the 10-22mm at the mo but thats only equiv. to 16mm on ff.

Well if house prices go up an itsy bit more I may be able to get one when I sell mine, after all its "only" a thousand or thereabouts

I am looking forward to the new 70-200mm, I hope they make it a bit lighter. Also the 14-24mm sounds interesting.

The 14-24 does indeed sound interesting, iv'e heard quite a few photographers (amateur and pro alike) wanting this one ever since Nikon released theirs......not sure about the other two but with this one it looks like Canon are listening to what people want.

the 70-200 is interesting. Hopefully it'll mean the older 70-200's will drop in price

What that you aren't interested in them? What do you think they should do next Pete?

The 14-24 is a stellar lens from Nikon and one of the obvious gaps in Canon's line up when compared (the other is the 200-400 f/4)

The 14-24 isn't really a gap in Canon's lineup, they have a 16-35, and a 14mm prime so the only thing missing is the 15mm. But then again, Nikon has a 17-35 which is like the 16-35.

Depends what the front element of the 14-24 is like in terms of filters, i might still keep my 16-35.

That was what I was hoping for, or something with similar range. L and non IS.

Why non-IS? If I was spending £4000 on a lens, I'd want IS!

Raymond - Agreed its not much of a difference but the 12-24 really is held up as a masterpiece optically. I've never tried the 16-35 II but the mark 1 was a big disappointment.

Because I was hoping for something that would be slightly more affordable :)
If it was £4k then yes I would expect IS of course.

Any f/4 lens that goes to 400mm is going to have to have a 100mm front optic. That will push it into a price range comparable (at least!) with the 200 f/2 or 300/2.8 I'm afraid...
