Other side of the lens mount, same as the 1Dx.
 
Looks like the same cameras that the Japanese guy had that were posted a while back.

AF spec looks good, not like the let down the old mk2 was (i.e. same as mk1)

What AF specs? You mean the pure speculation on canonrumors?
 
The high iso is going to be superb on this camera, I hope the rumoured price of $3500 US/£3000 GBP comes down after launch. I was hoping for a price around £2000 to £2500.

Well, I'd be surprised if they were out by much, got a pretty good track record so far, but yes, that's what I was referring to.

It appears that Canon France may have erringly spilled the beans earlier today ahead of what looks like an anouncement on Friday.

I make that none of those things make me want one any more than a mk2, and I really hope it brings down the price of the mk2!

Wonder if the ISO performance is any better then, 22mp suggests a different sensor to the 21mp one on the mk2?

The guy on Canon Rumors at least posted a link to the forum post where the guy put them up.

Hotlinking other people's pictures with no accreditation/link to the photographer isn't really considered acceptable on here is it?
 
I love Canon but shouldn't they at least try to keep up with Nikon's new d800 36MP?! And 6fps is very poor! the 7D ****es all over these rumoured specs!

I have zero interest in 36MP - what I care about is killer high ISO performance, decent DR, along with good, reliable AF (especially in low light). If they have this sorted they will be onto a winner IMO.

And a 7D is a different camera for a different market. I have one and I prefer my 5D MK I TBH.

I think the 5dIII rumoured specs pee all over the 7D. Sounds like it will have more AF points, that could be better. It will deffo have better higher ISO performance- something that lets 7D down.

Ok I think u forget that the 7D is over 2years old and by tech standards that's old, and as far as ISO goes 12800 is not exactly child's play. But the new raplacement should be announced soon oh and the 7D AF does rape the arse of the current 5dmk 2. So I should hope the new 5D has better AF and better iso but it wouldn't go a miss if they added some more fps etc

Aware of all that. The 7d kicked my 40d's harris at higher iso levels but it has always been behind the 5dii and the crop nikons of a similar age. Noise creeps in an needs to be dealt with at relatively low iso levels, I know cos I have has one for over a year and often shoot at iso 800 and above. It is otherwise superb and the af is great for the money. If the next 7d has better high iso performance I will snap one up in a moment!

I see that the 5d3 has an addition of the press button in the middle of the control dial. Maybe thats the only change but round of applause to Canon for that.

I hear there won't be a 7D mk 2 but a 70D that will replace it.

As long as its a 7d replacement rather than 60d I will be happy.
 
1Dx has as far as I can see gone below the parapets.... (AF 8 coming?) bet there will be hundreds of 5d3 bodies for sale at a discount....:lol::lol::lol:
 
Anyone seen the digitalrev video on YouTube regarding the 5D mk lll? It looks like Canon has improved the ISO soooo much as well as increase it soooo much. It looks good!
