Just been browsing Facebook marketplace place looking for bargains as it can be useful , today three Nikon Z mount systems have come up ,all different photos but all with exact same wording and all listed by people with very African sounding names ,and all priced at circa £120 for a Z camera and lenses … the first one I enquired about had supposedly just been sold but she posted me a link to where she had allegedly bought it .. which I believe is the actual scam site ..

I have now reported all three listings but I doubt faceberk will do anything, just be careful .
 
Just been browsing marketplace again it looks like this is prevalent all over the u.k reported about 6 this morning all identical wording , and all at totally stupid selling prices .. it bothers me that someone trying to get into the hobby will get ripped off by this ..
 
Just a thought: if Facebook and the other carriers received large fines for aiding and abetting fraud, how long would it take them to cull such adverts? :thinking: :exit:
 
Camper vans exactly the same. Never use it now. Gumtree is even worse. The country is full of scammers these days
 
Unfortunately there's scams with just about anything on Facebook marketplace and much of Facebook itself with scam adverts and Facebook do not care. There are good sellers on there but it needs a lot of caution when using the site.
 
i see it quite a bit on specific motorbike groups on facebook, not so much for bikes but parts and spares for bikes theres loads of them, if i was buying anything like that i want to see pictures with bits of paper with names and the days date on them and something like a banana in the pic ( insert any other stupid extra object in its place if no bananas available as long as its not relevent to the post), even then i would buy via paypal and not as friend/family, there are genuine people out there selling but your spidey senses have to be on full alert
 
iv'e seen the adverts your talking about and reported a few myself
if i can't collect i don't want it which has always been my policy with the likes of facebook , gumtree etc
