No
Just got hold of a Mint condition Mk2 1Ds and 28 - 135 IS Lens for £1200.

I have a question, will my old lens for my 400D Fit? A Sigma 70 - 300 DG APO Macro. Am I right in thinking the DC is from cropped sensor not Full Frame like the 1Ds?

opps Yes DG APO, and yes Really I did, it was off the bay, used only for Studio work, and now not needed as he changed job. Bargain or what? Could not say no.

Like I say, it will work. But you would have to be crazy to use such a budget lens on such a pro camera!

I shall be replaced for sure, just curious. I will be looking for a 300mm very soon. Prob an IS range im sure.

Any more 1Ds MkII's at that price let me know please..

I was just in the right place at the right time. Ebay Item number: 200231357814. Might be worth asking if he is selling any other equipment.

All the ones that I have had on watch have gone for £2200, body only so well done on that price and hope you really enjoy it. Git! :)

Thanks mate. Yep, I have seen them going for the same money. I snapped it right up as soon as I talked to the guy. It was orginal 1050 body only, got the lens chucked all in for 1200 so had to do it. I cant wait, it has been posted today, so Tuesday proberly. Cant wait.

Not a bad buy at all, and yes being DG, and not a DC means that it will work, but a you need 'l' glass to make the most of it.

Ahhh that shed some more light on the situation..

Its a 1Ds not a MkII..:)

[EDIT]

Missed some posts..:D

Stupid Question now, ready....
What is the main difference between the 1Ds Mk1 and 1Ds Mk2 ???

Im still excited for the new toy :)

And so you should be, Its an excellent camera and still leagues in front of the cheaper consumer models..

Now how to break the news to the Mrs, and get some L Glass, mmmmmmmm

As a 1DSMKII user myself I would say L lenses only from now on for you.

Totally agree, Nothing worse than a pro camera with a budget lens.:gag:

She will be mated with some nie glass soon. I will be using Lenses For Hire as they are in my town, to test a few before I commit, and get the roasting for spending more cash. hehe.

Well it arrived this morning, what can I say WOW, that is serious camera. Cant wait to give it a test run. Its in fantastic condition, only slight mark is the hot shoe from flash removal, nothing to worry about at all. I am one happy camper.

Is it 1st April today? I'm not so convinced guys!! Why go from a MKiii to a 1Ds? Maybe he's going to put the rest of his cash towards a nice L lens?
