My old camera died on me early on in my recent holiday, so I need a replacement. My last two have both been Lumix FZ200s and I've been really happy with them, so I'm looking at the FZ82D. It has a similar spec, similar weight and is generally available at £399, so I'm very tempted to just go with it. But am I missing out on anything?

I mostly photograph nature - landscapes, wildlife and flowers, etc. Not really interested in video and I'm happy to do a bit of photoshopping to clean up and enhance my images - in fact that's all part of the fun for me! Oh, and being of a certain age, my hands aren't quite as steady as they were, so I don't want anything too heavy - the FZ82D weighs 616g

Comments/alternative suggestions very much appreciated.

Out of the 2 I would go for the fz200 or better still the fz300 rather then the fz82 if you think the 600mm is long enough for your needs.
Check out here for some examples.

I use the original FZ82 alongside Micro Four Thirds, Sony APS and Nikon full frame equipment.

If you're a perfectionist, I'd suggest you steer well clear. If you use a camera to take pictures and want the most flexibility, in the smallest package, for the lowest price, I'd recommend you take a look at it. Here are some pictures I;ve captured with mine.

Shortest focal length first, longest focal length last...

I had an FZ82 for a while: it was nice and small, comfortable to hold and I was happy with the image quality. The only thing I didn't like was the manual focus being done with buttons on the back rather than a focus ring; I sold it and moved to an FZ2000 because of it, which I really liked. It was much heavier, though.
