My boudoir website has had a complete makeover which has just gone live!

www.harrogateboudoir.co.uk

I'd really appreciate any constructive observations that could improve it (typos, grammar etc.). Please don't slate the basic design too much as there's nothing I can do to change it fundamentally and it'll just really depress me! :)

Appreciate any observations that might help though, particularly from the ladies here... what could I do to the images/copy to make it more appealing?

Thankee!

Well Keith I for one am very impressed. First impressions are of a quality look and feel with some really beautiful images in the galleries. The site loaded very quickly and was simple and intuitive to use. The pricing is, and I am no pro and haven't looked into prices for pro studio shoots, but they seem resonable. I was a tad taken back by the big jump from the Simple Shoot to the complete Shoot. A very good idea to offer the vouchers though and at this time of year, xmas treat for the wife ect. The style and layout are superb, well I think so, the dark background and gold color works superb ly and the text is just right IMHO.

Other pros on here may spot mistakes errors ect regarding pricing or style but it works for me, very nice. All the success to you with the new site Keith.

Thanks Steve, really appreciate the comments and good wishes. Good to know that the navigation etc. works well. I get what you're saying about the pricing, I simplified it a lot earlier in the year and am still not sure if I have the balance right... I do manage to upsell an album most of the time which is where I make a fair profit. I'd be really interested if anyone else has any feelings/suggestions about the pricing structure, is it easy to understand and attractive?

Steve I've just had a quick run through and to me it looks clear and concise. 2 points stuck out for me #1 I was trying to click through the images to see larger renditions, it would be nice to see more detailed images. #2 The yellow font on the review page seems a bit hard to read, I much preferred the white on black you used in other pages.
Apart from that I think you've done a good job.

Thats a lovely site overall. I agree with @Leroy4bz, that some text is a little harder to read. Personally I like the yellow on black and think it's just down to the font used though. Especially the telephone numbers, the email address doesn't really need to be read if you know what I mean, because you can simply click on it, and the special offer text.

On the "The Shoot" Page, I'd make the email address a clickable link.
Same page, second paragraph there seems to be a space before the first word " If".
Same page, 5th paragraph, again a space before the first word " After".

With regards to the pricing (I'm not in the business, so just looking from a possible customer point of view), it does seem a bit of a jump from the simple package to the complete one. Perhaps a middle ground...? Or listing some of the extras between the two packages (without having to download - which can be a pain if you're using a phone) so people can quickly see the savings they could make by booking the complete package.

I need a cup of tea now so I'll come back in a little bit :)

On the FAQ page, the answer to what should I wear seems to use a larger font size than the other answers. I think that answer needs to be separated into some bullet points, again to make it a bit easier to read:
  • Evening wear...
  • Black, white or red lingerie...
  • Stockings & heels...
  • Any accessories...
  • Finally, if you have...
On the subject of airbrushing, I'd be tempted to add in that if there's anything you spot that you don't like (or know beforehand that you'd want taken out) to let you know. When I went for a Boudoir shoot  :$ I was't sure if I "was allowed" to ask for certain things to be airbrushed if that makes sense. I kind of didn't want to offend my photographer by asking her to edit her images. If that makes sense...?

On what type of prints can you produce, how big is a "very large print", not to sound too rude lol but what one woman may consider very large might only be a tiddler to others :p

Overall a very good site. You've even got me contemplating another boudoir shoot lol (shame you're too far away as I'd take you up on that half price offer).

Steve... Thank you for the observations. The image size is a little problematic as it may mean a pretty major design change to get bigger images, I'll speak to the design agency and see if they have any suggestions. Thank you also for your observation on the font, I'll speak to the designers about that too, thank you.

Vici... Thank you so much for taking the trouble to go through it in such detail. It really is so very helpful and your points are all such good ones... I can't see a single point you've made that I don't want to correct! It's a bit late now but I'll start working through them tomorrow. Thank you so much and if you're ever passing through Yorkshire you'd be very welcome to that shoot! :)

I'm not sure about actually using the word "Rag" in the downloadable price list. I know it's called that, but my guess is that most of your clients won't have a clue and the word Rag may put them off. Either take it out, or go with the light-hearted and relaxed tone of the rest of the site and make a slight joke about it.
Oh, and the price list is "applicable until the end of December 2014" ;).

Thanks again Vici... how could I have missed the 2014! haha!! I've fixed most of the things you pointed out now and will work on the rest (particularly the pricing). Thanks so much again, it's really helpful!
