I bought a new battery last week for my Minolta and charged it for about 8 hours, however yesterday, when I put it in the camera, it lasted just over an hour :nono::razz: Anyone know why?

Could it be that the previous battery was 7.4v & 1500aMh and this one is 7.2v & 1300 aMh? Would that make any difference?

The new battery would not last as long as the old one given those ratings but how long does the original battery last?

Was the new one sold as a direct replacement for your battery or did you just pick one that was similar?

The old one lasts currently 5 hours ish but used to last about 7 or 8.

This is a direct replacement and the same code - Lithium-ION NP-400 for Konica Minolta

are li on batteries similar to nicads, in that they take several charges and discharges to reach full capacity?
def with nicads if theyve been stood for a while, they take several uses before picking up properly.
200 mA h shouldnt make a huge difference in dicharge time. or 0.2 volts for that matter.
try a few more times and see what happens.

Worried now! I've just bought a 1300mha bettery as a spare for my 1500mha

Ah - I see - thanks very much,
