We have booked to go on safari in March, I cant wait!

Now I have a canon 40d that I love, and a 300d that now seems like it was around with the ark!

I dont know wether to get a new back or second hand I dont mind. The cheaper the better! I know it will be really dusty and i dont fancy changing lens whilst out and about.
I presume i will take 2.8 24- 70 and the 100- 400

or should I go for a g9 or 10.

Any help would be great
thanks
cas

G9/10 would give you the extra ability to have a camera with you at all times, but wasn't the 300D out when God was a lad?

thats what I was thinking, I had a little compact but i fear my daughter has claimed it now! I just dont want to go with one camera you never know

yep the 300d is a while back!

With the G10 you will need to take the charger with you...battery doesn't last that long, especially if you use the review screen all the time.

A cheaper alternative to a new camera body would be a changing bag......change your lens over in the bag - keeps the dust away. take a blower with you just in case, for £10 it isn't worth NOT taking for a trip like that - and take plenty of storage too.

Big plastic bag will be fine - strong ones, they won't fatigue as quickly in the strong sunlight.

Are you two officially female chauvanist hogs?

I thought that was a position reserved purely for the male of the species.........

Why not get a second hand 30d and leave one lens on one camera and the other lens on the other? Saves changing them in dusty conditions. And you can also let the other half take shots with it too :)

thats what Im begining to come to terms with, you never know he may like it! he turned 50 last year and i bought him a mobile phone he swore he wouldn never own one but he loves it now:lol:

......... anyone got a spare back for sale
