New 400D

Exciting isn't it?!

Depends what you have been used to using, but maybe suggest that you use auto for a little while you get used to the feel of the camera.

I've only just got a 400d and having been using a point and shoot for a while before, I found that quite a few of my first pictures were a bit disappointing. They're far from perfect now but I am getting used to the feel of the 400d by practicing - loads!

Enjoy...

Gratz butterfly I have a 400D and its ace. I will agree with neilmac though. When I first got it I ran outside took loads of pics and loaded them on my pc only to sit back and think I got a dud camera

but with time I have got used to an SLR and now my pics look ace well to me they do anyway ;)

Congrats shel. The 400d is a very capable tool. I had two but I have just sold one to help finance a 40D, but there's no way I'm going to let the other one go. As others have said, learn to use it and I'm sure you'll be well pleased with the results.

Good stuff! Set everything to auto and enjoy it for a few days, then try using manual to learn the technical stuff and finally use aperture and time value.

Then start saving. :D

thanks have just been outside as its been raining, and got this...............

i have been using a lumix FZ8 which has been great for learning but i'm wanting great things from the 400D so practice practice pratice.

xx

I'm a 'semi-novice' (if there is such thing) and picked up my 400D just 4 or 5 weeks ago; I've since spent a small fortune on lovely additional goodies and I'm still yet to even open the instruction pack - best way I say! Good luck and most importantly ENJOY. ;)

I just started using my 400D (after a long wait for a flash card :( ) and it is great fun going round and taking pictures of anything and everything! DOF is great fun. :)

Shame the weather isn't very good at the minute.

Balls to the instructions, just get it charged up and go for a play.

I'm considering an upgrade to a 40D at the end of this year (will have had my 400D 2 years) but I don't really want to sell the 400D...
