Yes
Its a sexy laptop.

Its an expensive laptop (£1000)

It is also an extremely cheaply built laptop.

If I took photos of it, you wouldn't believe it is 8 months old :(

Stupid chrome surround started coming off day 1, very poor design.

I've super glued it back down a few times, but it has snapped off in parts.

I dropped my laptop once, I now have a deformed shell/body

and now the left mouse button has stopped working :(

My lenovos each lasted 3 years each, the only failure was the Wireless WAN card. Not a single power supply went.

My previous dell was another odd job, I went through 3 power supplies in 2 years, they just stopped working and the laptop wouldn't turn on unless plugged in (wouldn't even get to POST).

Not impressed and looks like back to Lenovo after a year wasting £1000 on a laptop :(

you should see the macbook pro im using now, that supposedly cost £1500 new..

the chrome understandable, but why not send it off for repair? dell have good repair procedures.

drop, hmm well any laptop will break post drop. mouse stopped working, possible further drop damage (even post event, could have weakened something).

It is going back, waiting for the morning to phone them.

A £1000 laptop designed to be travelled with shouldn't break from a 2ft fall.

My lenovos went through much worse over the years.

The design on the 15Z is widely recognised as poor by nearly every user, I somehow missed all the messages before I purchased it.

Mine is a year old, dented, cracked, on it's second power supply and decided worn. Piece of crap tbh

My boss bought one of these for work, it winds me up!

Should have got a Latitude!

Agree with the lenovos. The older ones especially a built solid.

I've had 2 Dell laptops that were repaired and then became so bad they have become unrepairable. This is all in the last 2½ years. I will never by Dell again as the laptops are cheaply made and the customer service is awful. They lost my one laptop and got me to phone the couriers (2 couriers as they weren't sure which one they had used) to try and find it.

A two foot fall can be fairly substantial!

As mentioned, Apple computers wouldn't fare well either. Mine got a dent just being in a bag that was put down normally...

not strictly true, as mentioned the latitudes are bomb proof. we've still got 5-6 year old models still in circulation.

support is generally good, but make sure like applecare you get the upgraded warranty.

I still have a latitude D510 running win7 and a D620 running osx Lion. Both bought second hand and running fine.

All repaired and the engineer knows all the issues the the 15z, it is a very common fault. We agreed it is back to Lenovo for me on the next laptop.

Amp - a 2 foot fall is nothing for my Lenovo, it had a number of 3ft and 2ft falls over the years.

2ft is easily circuit board cracking territory. not to mention shock damage to hard drives even SSD. enough of a shock to unseat RAM modules.

thats before you have plastics and LCDs to think about. id suggest you were lucky with the lenovo.
