Network help

Ive tried in the past and give up but need to get this sorted, It drives me mad transferring files and images on a flash pen to go between my desktop (Vista) and Laptop (xp). Can these two machines be networked so I can print from laptop and access files. I did have it set up with my old laptop running vista same as desktop but this laptop runs xp and just cant seem to fathom it out, although I must confess I need things in laymans terms, please go easy on jargon but someone must be able to help

Yes. Set up users on both machines with the same username and password, share files/printers, connect to shares, job done..

What point are you having problems with?

Hi Neil, The bit throwing me was the putting settings to flash pen etc, it just wasnt happening from laptop to desktop, However I tried it in reverse and has worked, Not sure why or how but its set up, Apart from printing as yet but im working on that, Thanks. (I may be back)
