Does anyone know of a reasonable netbook with a DVD drive built in?

Have searched about but cant find anything. I guess I may need a small laptop if not

Thanks

Nick

You can get external USB DVD drives fro £20-30 these days which is probably the best way to go if you can't just ISO the dvd you want to read.

And if you go to the electrics counter and ask nicely they may have some e-machines netbook at Tesco 10.1" screen 1gb ram 160gb hdd winXP £129 not on shop floor you have to ask at electrical counter!

Ideal for your photo mates for data storage. But the best laugh is the extended warranty is on offer at £139!

Thanks for all the replies folks. I have seen an ASUS on the web with a DVD drive however this was from a couple of years ago and they don't do that model anymore hence my question about new ones.

Ideally I want it for a back up, bit of surfing when out and on holoiday and as a way of watching DVD's whilst on holiday (mainly for the kids).

The one from Tesco's sounds promising - might have an ask when I am next in. Only drawback is it is not Win7 .

Cheers

If it's just for the things you've mentioned it will make no difference whether it's XP or 7

I run both and they both do the job :D Don't leave Tesco's too long or they will all be gone.

I've been contemplating the same idea and whilst a DVD drive would be love it's just not pheasable on netbooks although if I was you I'd look at a Dell inspiron 11z or Dell mini 12, both are excellent 12" netbooks however the former has a faster Celeron processor and I presume it would always be able to run DVD's smoothly :)

Get a nice slimline DVD drive which you can usually for around £20.

Thanks for all the advice folks - went for an emachines from the scurge that is Tesco - £159, windows 7 starter, N150 chip and 160gb HD. Seems to run fine unless you try doing too much at the same time. Will prob upgrade the RAM to 2GB at some point. Battery life is running at about 8hrs (they state 4) and wirless is a good and strong despite our old house with solid walls trying to slow things down.

Would defo recomend it if you just need somthing simple to use and have to back up photos on when on holiday and do a bit of general surfing
