I've been looking closely at getting a netbook just now and replacing my desktop pc in September rather than forking out for a decent laptop, all I really want a mobile PC for would be email, browsing, downloading photos from my DSLR and uploading, perhaps maybe some music playback and video but I've been really looking at the Samsung NC10 and its new sibling the NC20.

I have also see though fully fledged 15.4" laptops very cheaply albeit with Celeron processors, how would this compare to a Samsung NC10?

i would go for the nc10 definately, the netbooks at the minute are all basically the same, mainly because there isnt that much different hardware around, if you can wait i would possibly wait for the new dual core atom processors.

the current atoms are alright, but you start opening 2-3 word documents and a few websites and it starts to lag, my brother has one for web browsing, coursework and msn and it does the job perfectly fine, nc10 is also one of the best looking =D

whats you budget? dell have some laptops you might have seen the advert, they have loads of different colours? they are good value for money

I quite fancied the NC-10, but the 160GB Aspire One, at £150 was just too good to pass up

Really depends if I'm buying a netbook and a desktop pc later ideally I'd want to spend no more than £300-£350 on a netbook and if I could get a decent 15.4" laptop for that I'd be more than happy.
To be honest I'm swithering between a high spec Laptop to do the role of desktop pc and netbook or buying 2 seperate systems.

Which Dell laptops are you referring to? The website seems keen to promote the Inspiron Mini which seems very expensive!

If I could get a decent spec laptop that would run Lightroom I'd be happy enough, what sort of battery life do you get out of a small laptop these days?
