A quick hello to everyone.
I'm slowly getting into photography after only having compact point and shoots for years.
Last year I got a chance to go to Egypt so bought a Panasonic Lumix FZ18 for it's all round capabilities, and my dad saying it shoots Raw (which is good!)
16 Months on and i'm starting to get the bug. Whilst the FZ18 is good i'm looking to go up to DSLR, so i'll be asking advice.

Not into cars, myself, but loads on here who are so you'll have a lot in common.

I seemed to get better pictures when I wasn't trying. Now i'm learning all the f stops, iso and shutter speed it seems to be going backwards.
 
A nice set of pictures and getting a DSLR will only help you enhance them especially the sports and action shots which is where Bridge cameras and compacts always fall down.I,ve added you as a contact on Flickr to see your progressRe advice go to the shops handle the cameras and get the one that feels right even if it does not say Canon or Nikon on the front

Welcome to TP, just been looking through your pics, I like them. As for the above, that may be more that as you understand more, you see more in the image and whilst they are actually getting better, you are getting far more critical more quickly. I think we all do that.
