It's my second wedding tomorrow of my new wedding venture as a photographer. I've been on location for about 5 hours or so now and I'm totally blown away. I'm on the Gardone Riviera on the shores of Lake Garda, Italy. I've been hanging out with the wedding party and checking out all the venues. Absolutely spectacular. I'm so jealous of the high end established photographers who get locations like this weekly (perhaps not Italy but even high end UK locations). I'm also aware there are a lot of photographers who are established and not get an opportunity like this. I am very humbled for this opportunity and I'm going to have to work my socks of tomorrow! I can't put any photos in a link or Flickr at the moment but there's one on Instagram if anyone cares to look.

Wish me luck folks!

Good luck Gareth! Been looking forward to seeing these for a while!

Give it your best, stay calm and think ahead. You'll deliver amazing images.

Wow!! Good luck Gareth!! Just don't forget to breath! Trust your instincts, you're a smart guy with lots of talent. You'll do great!

My daughter got married there in the Town hall, as you said a beautiful place. Good luck.

Thanks for all the good wishes folks! :-)

So where are you, come on, get up you lazy sod, we need to know you had the most amazing time and loved it!! :D

Up?! I was up at 05:45 to drive back for my flight! Haha. Literally just stepped off the plane. I think it went ok. I didn't have flash as you know, first dance was outdoors during daylight. Until it was delayed and then it was pitch black. :bang: I must buy and learn flash. Hopefully everything else is up to a good standard that they'll be happy. Nervous as hell to see them on the computer and of course deliver when they are home in a couple of weeks. The whole experience was amazing though. I was made to feel a part of the family since I arrived and was parting with everyone until almost midnight. Absolutely brilliant. A small part of me wishes this job came after I had shot loads of weddings but I can't change that so no point worrying.

Ouch about the first dance, but otherwise, well done you and there are plenty of us that have shot loads of weddings and are as jealous as hell! Have a look at them on the computer, but take a breather before you start editing, a step back after such a wow time is always good ;)

Thanks Yv. I said that last night to a couple of people. There are well established wedding photographers that would have loved a job like that and some will possibly never get one. Here's me on my second one. I'll never shoot another wedding like that though. The whole atmosphere and the way I was looked after was amazing. The best man even thanked me on the microphone after his speech and it got a round of applause. Embarrased much? Even more pressure to deliver now!

I think your very Brave mate! Ditto that to any Wedding Photographer.
Well done, i hope all the shots come out great mate!
All the best
Steve

Can't wait to see the shots- have enjoyed your snaps on Instagram!

I would love to shoot a wedding.... Properly, for no other reason other than to have the experience. I did have a bad experience doing a favour for a mate, where i had that never again moment! (you know where thats going). However would be nice to be a second to a Pro Wedding Tog, just once for the experience.

Anyhow were all waiting with baited breath to see some shots Gareth.... On that note

Just pondering and i'm sure some of the wedding togs here will know the answer .... If you are then commissioned to take wedding photos are you then able to post them? or do the photographs, then become the property of the person that commissioned you?, if you get my drift.

Of course. It's part of my contract and I suspect most other wedding photographers that Copyright remains with the photographer and can be used on my site etc. The clients get full printing rights. Quite a few people on here often post wedding stuffs in the people section.

Just been going through this wedding. I think it is an improvement over my last one which is what I was hoping for. Incremental steps every wedding would be nice. It's still not where I want to be though. Those first dance ones were a nightmare too!

Lake Garda - gorgeous place :) - you'd have had to drag me kicking & screaming back to the airport. Verona (also gorgeous) is within spitting distance and Venice (same again) is just a hop.

Those Italians know how to build lakes and cities!

Makes sense now you've said it!
Well glad they have come out well for you... I guess every wedding shoot you do you'll learn something.
All the best
