.... and it looks like their elephant sat on it! Very disappointed.
I went for the free A3 print deal online that some fellow TP's kindly drew my attension too, i was looking forward to my print that i only payed £1.50 for, and the future prospect of becoming a frequent customer; alas that will never happen.
It arrived today in a very flimsy card envelope, bent and creased on the outside; i thought 'Oh no, what is the print going to be like'. The print condition was worse than the packaging!!!
I have included some pictures, but they don't really show the damage very well; there is a huge crease in the middle, the crease has lifted the layers on the image, its absolutely awful. There are several more creases and bends from where someone has merely picked the print up; literally a child's fingers could crease this if they tried.
As for the print, well the paper seems to be quite cheap, very flimsy; the print itself is lovely, the colours are very nice and i am quite pleased with the photo (as it came from my little point and shoot, so wasn't expecting much 'quality' wise).
It seems that nellie's elephant works for royal mail, the bends and creases are really terrible. Nelliestore actually say in their terms and condition that they do not hold themselves responsible for damage during delivery; however the packaging is the reason behind the damage, so i will be contacting them with photographs of the damage. I know it was 'free', but if i had payed for this i'd have been royally wound up!! The fact is they should be trying to get repeat customers.
A simple 'do not bend' written on the packaging, might have saved the print from a little damage, but in all honesty the packaging is awful.
Here are the photos of the damage, and trust me when i say, the photos do not do it justice! Lol
This is the damage to the packaging, with some strange colours on the outside, it looks like it has been rubbed against something and gained the colouring.
When i first saw this bend, i knew it wouldn't be ending well.
Looks like Nellie the elephant wasn't looking where she sat!
There are loads of tiny lifts like this all over the print
The big daddy of folds, right down the center of the print; making it pretty unframable.
So there we have it, i will be contacting Nelliestore soon to see what they say about this; maybe giving them advice along the way like: 'DO NOT BEND' written on their cheap packaging (not that it would do a lot of good).
Steve.
