Hi All,

I want to buy a good negative scanner. My negatives are all shapes and sizes, colour and B&W, new and old family negatives. My budget is up to £500. Any suggestions?

If you have just 35mm go for a nikon coolscan but if you have medium format I would go with either the epson v700 or v750.

I'd agree. I have the Epson V700 and it's a superb scanner with the ability to tackle all film formats including large sheet film. The V750 is essentially the same scanner but with a glass negative carrier to enable wet scanning - it just depends if you want to bother with what seems to me to be a rather messy process for a fairly minimal return.

The v750 is meant to have a better lens.

It is. Despite this though, it's interesting that the reviewer of both models opted for the V700 when it came to parting with his cash. He gives the V750 the nod, but not by enough to worry about.
