neg scanner

Its the basement car park floor -3, there are basement offices at -2 and -1, the Ground floor is disappointing but usable scans...:)

Just been looking around today and talking to a professional photographer. So not worth using anything less than a £700 Nikon Coolscan for quality results...?

Granted, he does mag work. But it depends if you're wanting 7x5 prints or A0 posters...

In a number of these scanning threads on here, I've complained bitterly of a scanner that was regularly in imminent danger of being propellled through a closed window due to regular crashes, blue screen of death's, hanging, and general malaise... You guerssed it - it was the one in the OP.

When it worked it came up with over-grainey but useable scans in BnW and pants in anything else - pretty much as Jox says. In short - treat it with Garlic and Crucifixes - then go out and buy a Canoscan 8800F/Epson V500

Well a S/H Epson 2480 for about £10 is a good start......never had a large print done from mine, but it delivers VG results on a computer screen.
