I've been laid up for a few days with a back injury, so I've spent my time rejigging my website...

Running it on Pixelpost now, with the Fluid template, with Paypal integration, and picture location by Google Maps! To save a load of rally photos blotting everything else out, I'm only putting in a small selection, but have kept the "Motorsport" galleries from my old site active under the link "Motorsport Event Galleries"

http://www.etchacan.com

So, please, tell me what you think of it, how if operates, and that it all works!!

cheers,

Alasdair

I looked at the wrong link (Pixelpost) at first... duh. Anyway, I'm there now. :) Looks really good to me. Nice-sized pictures to really show them off, and I think it's a good idea to put a small sample of your very best shots on there, rather than heaps of others as well. Good work.

Nice looking site but why have you different catorgoies for the same suject? landscape, moutains panoramas.

I like the flow of it but I also like uniformity and the different sizes on the gallery page spoils it. Maybe have one or two photos from each catergory on this page to make it look neater.

looks good to me sir.
You've even managed to make Aberdeen look interesting!! :D

only comment is that the motorsport gallery loads up without your menubar at the top. Is it from the old incarnation of your site? Realised you can click your logo top left, but others may not ;)

I think the front page selling tool (the thing with 'next' and 'prev') should use a wide array of different cars from across the selection in your gallery rather than just one type. from the front your output looks much narrower and much less impressive than it is inside the gallery!

But I like Mad Paddy.

also, how does the paypal integration work? Is the 'order print' part a Pixelpost add-on?

Ross

It links to a Paypal shopping cart, on payment, I get an email, and order the prints...

Front page currently just shows the most recently uploaded image, I'm working on that:)

Of course Aberdeen's interesting! It's 2 major industries are oil and lapdancing!! - you're right, the motorsport galleries are from the previous incarnation of my site...

Thanks for all the feedback so far - good and bad!

I like the style of the front page, its very similar to my work in progress site. I was also going to comment about how the motorsport event galleries pages look out of place compared to the rest.

Right, updated the categories (mountains ARE mountains, and not landscapes!!), and introduced a random front page photo.

And more photos added:)
