hello

Im getting married in october at vic falls and as part if the wedding package get a photographer

but since ive got back into taking pics myself m starting to get worried about what we are getting have worries that ill turn up with better gear than he guy ect ( I know that gear is only half the story) but knowing my luck he will have some old 3mp compact

atm Ive asked for a more detailed list of his/her kit and examples of there work but so far non has come through

any thoughts on what questions I should ask ?

thanks

You need to see the photographers work.

Ask how much the package is without a photographer, I have done some weddings abroad where it was cheaper for the B&G to fly me out etc,etc than pay for the supplied tog whose work is an unknown quantity. Though Vic Falls may render that a moot point.

Maybe check some photographers out down that neck of the woods yourself.

PS...........Been a long time since I have been at Vic Falls,so if you get stuck........;)

I think the normal routine is for you to see the portfolio and confirm what you get (in terms of time, activity and prints).

I was booked for a wedding in Cuba...
The "official photographer" supplied for a wedding by the hotel shot 3 photos, on film, on a old Russian 35mm SLR. He supplied 3 negatives, 1.5 weeks later, which was 1 week after the couple left. he also supplied 3 over exposed prints

I felt sorry for the bloke, who actually , when handed one of my Nikons lit up with joy and shot a few half decent images

right have asked for examles of his/her work

non forthcommong but have been told the camera they use is a Nikon D50

Its about the end result and not the gear in some respects. If you like the result and it was shot on a crap camera - would it matter?

You can give anyone "The best" camera but they still cannot shoot a nice picture.

hee hee I'm free that week (whenever it is!!!)
