Yes
i need measurements of the flash end of speedlights (length and width), but i only have a sb-26 and sb-28

if anyone has any others (nikon, canon or any other type) id be grateful if you could post the measurements rounded up to the nearest half centimeter, noting the speedlight

im in the middle of designing a ringflash, and i could do with getting a feel for the average sizes, as well as minimum and maximum sizes so i know how adjustable to make the flash input

this is just a personal project, but i do like to be future proofed :D

no, was about to say, a hell of a lot bigger than the nikon units i measured (though admittedly there old units) lol

alright, so i figure tolerances need to vary from 3x6 to 5x8, assuming im not worried about losing the ability to use vivitars in exchange for a better fit

il try and post it up when its done, if anyones interested - might be a while though, im taking pains to make sure its modular and what not, and its not like im spending all my time on it :P

basing it on a 15mm rail system though, so tons of pre designed options if i ever want to add on to it in the future

oh, actually, if your still up for it, could you get me the length from the hinge at the rear of the flash head to the front element?

thatd help with riser tolerances

//edit

and the total length please >.>

sorry, i just realized those extra bits would be helpful. my memory is terrible, honestly

Measuring a Canon 430:

The flash head itself is approximately 70mm x 40mm.

The depth of the flash head when angled at 90 degrees is about 75mm, and the overall length of the entire unit (from shoe mount to flash head) is about 160mm with the head angled to the vertical.
