Yes
Basically, I have a sony amp with a push terminal, like so:

One of these for R speaker and L speaker.

I have Wharfedale loudspeakers with push terminals, one of these push terminals on each speaker.

Now, how the bloody hell do I connect the two?
Do I use regular speaker cable, like so:

And just strip it down putting the exposed ends into the terminal?
Help!

Yes, but get some better quality cable from Richer Sounds!

Yup! Hopefully the speaker cable has one with a line down it, or a different colour. It doesn't matter if the marked one goes into + or - as long as it goes into the same on amp and speaker...

If you're on a tight budget, use some mains cable. Lighting flex should be man enough for the job and will almost certainly be a lot better than the bell wire most speakers come boxed with!

:agree:

Some nice cheap main cable is much superior to the carp they can come boxed with :)

Local tv shop here swears by 2 core flex.

Or it might have a raised edge.. usually the +'ve is the one which is raised or marked (known as the tracer because you can trace which one is which by visually looking or feeling i guess) but as above as long as you are consistent is doesn't matter too much.

Went out and bought 2x 4m length from halfords today (along with some car mats :)) and got them home, turns out Dad has some good quality cable already. Muppet!
I'll take it back and get my money back!
