:help: Im starting a new darkroom project for all young people in southampton, and surrounding areas(notably those from a disadvantaged background, that have not had the chance to do this sort of thing, but really want to!) i have had some luck aquiring enlarger and trays etc on ebay so far, and should have enough for six to eight people, however i am still stuck on a few items (timers, lightbox's, and sinks, dryers and stuff out of my price range,) i have had an article in AP and got a few replies, but am now calling on the fellow community to try and help.
i started the project because of the interest at the idea, and the fact that these young people have an unusual but justifiable outlook on the world and wish to capture some of their lives on film as an art form.
if anybody could help in any way, from either giving free kit, (we can collect within a distance) advice(perhaps you might want to come in and have a free day teaching people new tricks you have learned over the years?), help in the construction of the dark room proper (we have unlimited access to materials, through a construction charity ironicaly called C.R.A.S.H so if you want to help build abd construct a fab new darkroom, which you can use in the future, then please mail me)or just have any usefull advice that i may be missing would be greatly appreciated

hopefully you guys may be able to really help, and get loads of people back into a great artform, and give them the chance to get back into education and employment

I can't offer anything to help you but I do think that this sounds like a great project. I wish you all the best with it.
 
We might well have some spare darkroom kit you can have mate. (We're only 20 odd mins from you too.) I'll have a look later today and get back to you. ;)
 
I'm unable to help but I just wanted to say I think it's an absolutely fantastic idea and wish you every success with it. Good luck and well done for going with it :)
 
Ed, we do have quite a bit of darkroom kit that you are welcome to have if you need it! ;) I have sent you a PM with some details, so feel free to get in touch and come and collect it!:)
