Hi There,

I am a complete newbie. I've always been interested in photography and want to upgrade to a DSLR but just have a question about training...

What courses are best to take? I'm not sure if I need to do a college course or if the ones I've found via Google are trustworthy / reputable. Is it best to find a photograpgher and see if I can do some work experience with them?

Also, if there's anyone based in London who wants an apprentice please let me know!! I'm free weekends and a few days during the week and on most evenings.

Thanks,

Hailinguk

I found that the best training you can get is ask questions on here and practice. I did a cousrse last year and it was very good but in some respects I learnt more from the people I met on the course than I did from the course itself.
This site is a font of knowledge. There are people on here with a liftimes photographic experience who are quite willing to share that with whoever needs it. So ask away and remember that theres no such thing as a stupid question.

Cheers

Andy

Agree with above post. Im a newbie too, learned alot today already. The guys/girls on this site are extremelly helpfull.

Do a search and then ask the question if the answer your looking for isnt there!

Thanks for your replies.

I've been advised on another thread to get the camera first to play around with it and use the web for now to learn so that is what I shall do.

I can't wait to get the camera. Hopefully I'll save enough in a few weeks time.

I would suggest you decide on which camera to purchase first, when you have made that purchase you will be able to ask specific questions relating to that camera. That way you should be able to ask questions relating to that make/model of camera, which will be far more useful to you.
