Hey guys and girls, im new to photography, and well. Im just shooting indoors at the moment. On normal standard roof lighting.

Now what is the main purpose of:

The shutter speed setting?
The ISO Setting?
And the F-Stop setting?

I just want to get the best quality photo i can and im a little confused on how to do this.

Thanks

Nick

Head over to the tutorial section.

Definately looking at the tutorials on here helped me so it's a  for them from me!

Agree with PMK, just have a fiddle and soon everything and thier relationships with each other will fall into place.

All you are trying to do is get the right amount of light into your camera, and you have three variables with which to do this.

My attempt at answering your questions,
Shutter speed controls how long the light is allowed to the sensor.
ISO is how sensitive the sensor is to light.
F-stop is the control of depth of field.

High shutter speed is always good, unless going for motion blur, but normally unless you are running a very high ISO or low f-stop it can be difficult if lighting is being awkward. F-stop is really going to alter the overal artistic feel of an image, a small f-stop will prdouce a very shallow depth of field.

The best advice I can give is to set up a shot and experiment by altering one thing at a time and note how it effects the image.
Just make sure you have fun doing it!
